We send our deepest sympathy to Joan & family. Dick was a great fellow as we have known him for over 60 years through PJ High School years & the Dawdy Quartet playing for Jr. Farmer dances. He will be greatly missed by so many. Bill & Mary Derbyshire

I wish to extend my condolences to his Family and friends. I have very fond memories of Mr. Archer. He was my tec teacher at Centennial school in the mid 80's. He used to tease me to see me blush as it was easy to do and he always got a laugh out of it. He will be remembered and missed by many. R.I.P. Mr. Archer it was an honor to be one of your students.
Dear Joan and Family,
Extending sincerest condolences to you on the passing of someone I will always treasure and remember. I always looked forward to our visits and our good discussions, and not once was Dick not smiling or not spreading joy and laughter to others. How fortunate to have known him! God bless and comfort you all.
Dear Joan and Family,
Dick was a very special individual, and correctly thought of as a “gentle giant”. I was privileged to share his last years of teaching with him, as his partner, delivering the Technology In Society program at Centennial-Grand Woodlands. What fun we had! Dick was greatly respected and loved by the students. He taught them, and me, a great deal. I have many wonderful memories of our time together. May you cherish the memories you have of him!
With deepest sympathy,
Judy Sangster
Dear Joan and family:
I just read of the loss of your dear husband, father and grandfather.
I remember the time that he and Vic spent on County Council. Vic admired and valued him so much.
I had sent a card off to you with address I had from way back but it was returned and I never pursued it when Vic passed away.
I am sending you my sincere sympathy.
Perhaps he and Vic are exchanging pleasantries in the heavens above. They were the BEST.
I remember Richard Archer from years ago as my wood working teacher. He was easy going and always took the time to socialize with me. He was a great teacher and I enjoyed his class. He will be missed. Deepest sympathy and condolences to all his family and friends.
The Archers were a big part of my family's life growing up near Langford. Dick was a gentle giant with an infectious sense of humour. He was a huge supporter of the church and community and mom and dad valued his (and Joan's) friendship. Our thoughts and prayers are with Joan and the rest of the family. Debbie (Rutherford) Dover
