Obituary of Arthur William Sinfield

Sinfield, Arthur William Passed away with family by his side at the Brantford General Hospital on Saturday, March 6th, 2021 at 89 years of age. Born and raised in London England, he grew up with his lifelong best friend George Mannering. Together they would cycle for miles, sometimes ending up at the seaside. Arthur survived the WW2 blitz of 1940 and was later evacuated to Lincolnshire during the Buzz Bomb scourge. Arthur had a passion for music. He learned to play the accordion, classical guitar and piano. He spent many evenings playing the piano entertaining the customers at his family-owned pub “Jack Birds”. In 1953 he married the love of his life Isabella. Together they would take their Lambretta scooter and tour the countryside. They would often spend their vacations visiting Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar. Arthur worked as an electrician at the Dailey Express Newspaper. Upon his retirement in 1988, Arthur and Bella immigrated to Canada and settled in Brantford. Arthur will be sadly missed by Bella, his wife of 67 years. Cherished brother of Leslie (Peggy) in London England and deeply missed by his brother-in-law George Mannering (the late Mary). Loving uncle to Matthew (Janice) and John (Nan). He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Brantford Paramedics, the staff of the Emergency department and the staff on B6 at the Brantford General Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. The family would also like to thank the staff at Riverview Terrace for their ongoing support and care. As per the family’s request cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford, 519-752-4331. Memorial donations to the Brant Community Healthcare Systems Foundation would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Arthur in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
