Condolences
Dear Bea and Family: I received the very sad news of Ken's passing late yesterday afternoon from friends in Woodstock. Unfortunately, I am unable to attend the service and Wayne too is not able to get time from work on short notice. I would like to express our sincere condolences. Ken was almost like an Uncle to Carol, Wayne and I when we were small. Our Dad, Don Hartley, worked with him and of course he was a great presence in Sunday School at Muir United Church. He always had time to tell us a story or inspect the new kittens in the barn when he visited our family! He was such a valued friend to Mom and Dad, a friendship that lasted until they both passed away and continued with especially Wayne and with Carol and her husband, Ian, at any of the Hartley or Sumsion family events such as significant birthdays, anniversaries, and at funerals. I didn't see you and Ken as much after moving to Burk's Falls over 36 years ago but when I was able to attend these functions, it was always such a joy to see Ken and reminisce about happy times with him. Such a kind, wonderful man. He will certainly be greatly missed by his family and also by his huge "family of friends". God Bless . You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Ken was a wonderful man. He will be sadly missed by many people. Cheryl & I will always cherish the pieces of furniture Johnny Appleseed made for us with a little help from Mrs. Johnny Appleseed. Thinking of you all at this time.
Bob & Cheryl Laking.
