HUGHES, Jessie Marguerite (nee Grinton) - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at the Brantford General Hospital on Thursday, July 25th, 2013 in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Maurice Hughes (1999). Loving mother of Daniel (Thea), the late Douglas, the late Diane (the late Gordon) Scott, Jessie Donohue, Maurice (Joanne), and John (Kimberly). Devoted grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She will also be fondly remembered by her loving companion Harry Guest, and many other family members and friends. Sadly missed by her sister Sue Bradd, and brother Don and his wife Elsie Grinton. Predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Jessie is a life member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and a long time Toronto Blue Jay fan. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave. on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel on Monday, July 29th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Jessie in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
