Obituary of Violet Holmes

HOLMES, Violet (nee Bonney) It is with great sadness the family of Violet Holmes announce her passing at Hardy Terrace in Mt. Pleasant, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, April 5th 2013, at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Arthur Holmes (2012) and loving mother of Clark (Diane) Holmes, Carol (Bill) Davidson and Kim (Joe) Gambacort. Cherished grandmother of Craig (Lisa) Holmes and Denyse (Dave) Welch, Todd, Brad and Jill Davidson, Ashley (Mike) Todd, Brittany and Nic Gambacort. Great-grandmother of Alysha, Melissa, Emily, Megan, Katryna and Cole. Great-great-grandmother of Aidyn. She was born the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Bonney. Dear sister of Charles Bonney, the late Evelyn Reese and the late Hilda Gibbons. Born in Theodore, Saskatchewan in 1921, Violet came to Ontario at the age of 18, where she began work at Cockshutt's during the second world war. This is where she met the love of her life Arthur Holmes, they later wed and had 3 beautiful children. Years later opened the Banfield Street Day Nursery in Paris, Ontario, which she owned and operated. Many thanks to the staff of Hardy Terrace, for all their care and support.
