Condolences
It is with a very heavy heart that we heard that Eric had passed away. Eric will be sorely missed by family, friends and by his " MOOSE FAMILY " across North America. We have lost a friend, a brother and a true fraternalist who under his leadership in the early 1980's and there after was largely responsible for the success and growth of the Moose Fraternity in Ontario and across Canada. I am not sure even Eric's family is aware of the respect and the high esteeem Eris was held by the members of the Moose Fratenity. There are many who owe a debt of gratitude to Eric that will never be forgotten. The Sault Moose Housing Corporation has named a building in his honour: the Eric Wopod Place. Although we cannot be there in person for the services today, Eric will be in our thoughts and prayers. Jean and all family members, please accept our sincere condolences and our heartfelt sympathy at your loss. Eric will be missed by many but will never be forgotten.

I was very sad to learn of the passing of this great man. Eric and Katherine were very close friends with my Parents, Bill and Kay Lee through the Moose Lodge. Bill and Eric were both very interested in the history of the Moose lodge and were instrumental in putting together the museum in the Hamilton lodge. My family lost both my parents to cancer, Kay in 2001, and Bill in 2005. During my parent's times in the hospital Eric was a frequent visitor, bringing comfort to both. At the time of my Father's funeral in Dundas in May 2005, Eric had just come back from Mooseheart with many others, and did a very emotional memorial for my father that was inspirational and very much appreciated by our family. Eric was a classy man and someone I always sought out at any Moose lodge functions to say hello. To me he personified all the good that the Loyal Order of Moose was, honour, friendliness and selflessness. He will be missed. Rest in peace Eric
If you have been in the Moose anytime at all, you could not help but have a friend in Eric. He believed in our Mission and loved everyone that went down the same path, to help make the Moose Fraternity a success. The children at Mooseheart and the Seniors at Moosehaven are in a better place because of Fraternalists like Eric. He may not have always agreed with you, but, he would be there for you. Of course, as I came from Niagara Falls too,we got along quite well.
May you you in Peace, my Pilgrim Brother.
He was a loving Grandfather to me and my sister. He will never be forgotten.
Eric was a great friend and a wonderful mentor. He inspired me to be a better Moose Member and a better person. He was never too busy to stop and listen to what was on my mind or to share a story about some of the adventures he experienced while travelling for the Fraternity. I'll never forget some of the sing alongs and discussions we had in the wee hours of the morning. I always told him the secret to his success was that he could stay up later and get up earlier than anybody else I knew. He was thoughtful, determined and dedicated. His experience, his wise counsel, and his good humour will be missed by all who knew him.
