Pat, So many memories as children playing in the park the three of us, you, Harvey and me. Remember the orange blossom incident and swimming in the river at Holmedale Beach? Summer get togethers at Whiteman’s Creek, Grandma Pettigrew’s birthday parties, walking to school together when we both lived on Mt. Pleasant Street. Getting married where we had each other in our weddings and raising families. Saturdays going to bazaars with Marjorie and wrapping Marjorie’s many Christmas presents for her family. Attending family funerals and enjoying our retirement talks, so many. I will miss you, love Leone.
Dear Roy, Tom,Gordon,Brenda and families:
The flame has been extinguished but the light shines on.
Pat was,a kind, loving,giving soul.
Pat was the matriarch of the family. She got things done. She always found the good in people and situations.
She was a friend and knew to have a friend you had to be a friend. Keeping in touch went both ways with Pat and myself.
When I hear the birds chirping and see the sun rising and the music playing I shall always think of Pat. She has left me with such good memories.
Blessings
I swam at the Gretzky Center with Pat most days of the week. I always appreciated Pat being an aficionado of all things Blue Jays and her pleasant, easy going conversation. Pat also tolerated my "joke of the day". Even though she found the humour rather bad, Pat always invited the joke into the conversation. Sample: "What do you call a sheep that sings and dances? Lady Baaa Baaa." I am already missing Pat at swim times. To Pat’s family and friends, I offer my condolences. May Pat rest in peace.
Q: What will you never forget about Patricia?
A: Well, I’m not a swimmer, and I met Patricia and Shelly at the Wayne Gretzky centre where they swam and both of them. Specially Patricia encouraged me and inspired me to put on a swim belt and go into the deep end of the pool. I was afraid once I put on the belt, I was at the edge and they encouraged me to let go and start swimming. Well I thought that was amazing. I was so happy and delighted and not afraid anymore I thank you Patricia for your encouragement and inspiration and beautiful conversations I had with you and I thank you Roy when I went up on the track to do laps I was behind you when I first started, but I caught up to you !!!! As I was pacing you and then I passed you great achievement for me, but I wanna thank this family from the bottom of my heart. Both Patricia and Roy. You will never be forgotten Patricia I remember your smile And laughter when I started swimming without hanging onto the edge of the pool with my water belt on . May you rest in peace I pray for the family for the days ahead May the Lord give you all strength and comfort
