Obituary of Leslie Bacon

Leslie Donald Bacon - Leslie (Les) Bacon passed away in his home on Wednesday August 21, 2024, to be with Jesus and be reunited with his wife, Bonnie Bacon (2010). Treasured father of Doug (Lisa) Bacon, Jeff Bacon, and Christina (Michael) Antonowicz; Papa to Johnathan, Hailey (Marco), Cassie (Kurtis), Izabella (Dylan), Hannah (Matt), and Katrina (Jayson); Great-Papa to Willow and Mckenna Mackie; Loving brother of Ted Haydon (2020), Scott Bacon (2023), Carol Ann Conlin, Jim Haydon, Jane Tiffin, Chuck Bacon, Linda Snelgrove, Eva Blenkinsop, and Rose Johnson. Loved by many nieces and nephews. Les had a passion for fishing, going to Timmies for a Triple-Triple coffee, and going to the casino. His favourite pastime was taking his scooter to the grocery store and getting a couple bags of milk and stopping off at Timmies on the way home. His heart was for his family and his Old Western movies. Lesley is known as one of the bravest men to his family. Les was awarded a Medal of Bravery back in 1976 for heroically saving a young child from a well, a year later to the date he and Bonnie were blessed with his daughter. Les and his beloved wife moved to Caledonia back in the early 2000’s enjoying many memories, such as Canada Day celebrations, going to the park with his grandchildren, going to the corner store to get red pop and popcorn, and cuddling his grandkids when they had bad dreams. Shortly after the passing of Bonnie, he moved back to their family residence where he lived out the rest of his days always looking forward to a call or visit from his brothers, sisters, children, and grandchildren. Family and friends will be received at Becket Glaves on Friday August 23rd, 2024, from 11:00 am until the service time at 12:00 p.m. Memorial Service to commence in the chapel at 12:00 pm with light refreshment to follow. Cremation has taken place as per his wishes. A tree will be planted in memory of Les in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
