Obituary of Brad MacDonald

Please share a memory of Brad to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of William Bradley MacDonald, who suddenly left us on June 1, 2024, at age 59 due to a heart attack. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on August 23, 1964, and raised in Labrador city and Nova Scotia, Brad was a beloved son to Basil and Blaise MacDonald and a cherished brother to Brenda Keyes (Paul). He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion as a father to Stephanie Iovio (MacDonald) (Greg), Ryan MacDonald (Kandis), and Kayla MacDonald; as well as being an adored grandfather to Rowan and Quinn Iovio, Aria Joneit, and Koston Feaver. Brad also had many close relatives he shared a special bond with. Aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and close friends that were family to him. He has left a great impact in everyone's life, and he treasured each and everyone of them until the day of his passing. Brad's life was marked by his dedication both at work and at home. As a draftsman at Enbridge Gas for many years, he not only made significant contributions but also formed enduring friendships among his colleagues. His commitment to excellence in his professional life mirrored the deep care and devotion he had for his family. A compassionate soul through and through, Brad always extended a helping hand to those in need. His children and grandchildren were the center of his universe; their triumphs brought him immeasurable joy while their struggles prompted him into action without hesitation or reservation. Brad found peace in nature, whether it was casting a line out into his favorite fishing spot, camping trips at Brant park with his family and friends and more recently, unwinding and letting loose at his trailer surrounded by friends and family. This was his happy place. It brings us comfort knowing he made so many great memories with his friends and loved ones and lived his last days where he was most happy. An avid fan of hockey-particularly the Toronto Maple Leafs-Brad found camaraderie amongst fellow fans while cheering on his team. One of his biggest passions in life was music. Classic rock resonated deeply within him; it stirred something profound that could only be expressed through strumming chords upon guitar strings or swaying along at concerts, letting the music take his soul while drinking a bud light. Those who knew Brad will remember not just these passions but also the friendliness and kindness he exuded effortlessly-a gentle spirit whose generosity knew no bounds. The void left by his absence will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him-the warmth of his presence now replaced by bittersweet memories that serve as testament to how greatly he touched our lives. In honoring William Bradley MacDonald's memory let us carry forward the love he so freely gave-to extend compassion wherever it is needed most-and may we find comfort in knowing that though gone from sight he remains forever present within our hearts. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre on Saturday, June 8th from 9 am until 9:45am. A service will be held in the chapel at 9:45 am. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Brantford. A tree will be planted in memory of Brad along the Grand River. A Celebration of Life - Brad's Style to follow at the Best Western Brantford, 19 Holiday Dr., from 2 pm onwards.
