Obituary of Sherman Richardson

Sherman left us Monday afternoon on January 8th, 2024 after saying goodbye to his family and friends. He has now completed his journey after several years of a very courageous battle with cancer. Sherman was predeceased by his parents, Lyle and Helen Richardson, and late wife Doris. He is survived by his wife, Cathy, and his daughter Debora (Richard) and extended family Kris (Stacee),Jayme (Esther), Robyn as well as two grandchildren Sharon (Mike), Andrew (Chandra), and known as Papa to Kiara, Carter, Quinn, Audrey, Rhys, Emery, and Aria and 2 Great Grandchildren Avery and Clementine. Sherman was one of four children and leaves behind his three siblings Sue (Chris), twin sister Sharon (the late Michael), Sandy (the late Alan), and two very loving dogs Miss Chelsea and Miss Sophie. He will be missed by his good friend, Lindsay, who shared his love for golf and playing pool, and also Hank, always ready to help around the farm and solve world problems over breakfast. Friday mornings were spent at the Perks of Norfolk with friends catching up on the latest farm news, and reminiscing of the good old days, over coffee and a hearty breakfast. Farmer Sherman was known to dine out weekly. He enjoyed The Old School House with family and friends, finishing the evening around the grand piano, sipping on a glass of Sambuca or a cup of Espresso, all with exemplary service. Tuesday nights were spent at the Keg, enjoying his Chopin Vodka Martini with the most welcoming crew. His passion for travel was well known, as he shared his traveling adventures around the world and also enjoyed attending live theatre. His family will be comforted by knowing he followed his dreams and enjoyed life to the fullest. Forever in our Hearts. Family and friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford, 519-752-4331 on Thursday, February 15th, 2024 from 11:00 am -1:00 pm and 5:00-7:00 pm. A Service of Remembrance will take place in the chapel on Friday, February 16th, 2024 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted in memory of Sherman in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
