Obituary of Lucas Crump

Lucas passed away as the result of a tragic accident on Friday, August 4th, 2023 at 16 years of age at Victoria Hospital in London. Proud son of Karen Hanson-Crump and Lance Crump. Loving grandson of Norma Hanson and Betty Jean Crump. Predeceased by his grandfathers Richard Hanson and Lawrence Crump. Cherished nephew of Richard Hanson (Debbie), Alison and Dennis Hull, and Karen Puseljic (predeceased). Fondly remembered by cousins Ryan, Greg and Nico, Mike (predeceased), Cheryl, Cindy (Chris), Sarah, Aimee, and Tommy, very special Aunt Diane, and his furbaby Oscar. He will also be fondly remembered by many other aunts, uncles, and cousins from coast to coast. Lucas touched the hearts of many people in his short life. He was an honour student in the French Immersion program at North Park Collegiate. He played hockey and soccer. His favourite hockey team was the Chicago Blackhawks and his favourite soccer player was Lionel Messi. He loved swimming and biking, and gardening with his Mom (really Mom, another project!). He was a shining light — sweet, funny, witty, kind, and brilliant. He loved Wendy’s and Tim Hortons, Maria's Pizza in West Brant, Angie knew how to make that pizza perfect for him, TikTok, SnapChat, and Instagram, and musician The Weekend, among many other artists new and classic. Lucas was also a fashionista! He loved wearing his bucket hat and socks with slides, always socks. He wore slides to Semi formal at North Park Collegiate and said to me it was acceptable because it was “Semi Formal” his personality shinning through. Lucas had many good friends from school and team sports. Lucas recently got his G1 licence and was an organ donor. Many people will benefit from his generous gift. Karen and Lance would like to thank their amazing family, friends, and clients for their love and support. Thanks also to the emergency first responders from Oxford County, the staff at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, Victoria & Children’s Hospital (London), and Ornge ambulance. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford on Friday, August 11th, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Saturday, August 12th, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the service starts at 1:00 PM. A Service of Remembrance will be held in the chapel at 1:00 PM. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Huntington Society of Canada, Kidney Foundation of Canada, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A bursary will be organized in Lucas’ name at a later date. A tree will be planted in memory of Lucas in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
