Obituary of Natalie Ruth Norris

Natalie died peacefully on January 20, 2023 in Brantford, in her 96th year. She was predeceased by her loving husband Sydney. She leaves behind her sons Allan (Deborah) and Gary (Anne-Marie); grandchildren Michelle (Brad), Vanessa (Toby), Leah, Sam and Jake; great-grandchildren Eliana and Mariève; her sister Blossom Tobe and her brother Gerry Fine (Bonnie) and many much-loved Fine, Tobe, Norris and Moscoe nieces and nephews and their offspring. Eldest child of Harriet and George Fine, Natalie was raised knowing the importance of family and a strong business acumen. She worked with her parents at George Fine Men’s Wear in Kitchener, later she met her husband Syd whom she married in the summer of 1950. They later moved their family to Brantford where she was active with the Hadassah (Jewish women’s group) and assisted with her husband’s metal recycling business. She enjoyed travelling extensively with Syd and spending time at the race track watching the horses in their later years together. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by her family and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Our special thanks to her wonderful caregivers Tatiana and Irina, who provided support and phenomenal care and each made a positive difference in her life which allowed her to stay in her home. The staff at the BGH were wonderful in her final hours. Family and friends will be received at Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford on Monday, January 23rd, 2023 from 1:00-1:45. A prayer service will commence in the chapel at 1:45 pm. Interment will follow at Beth David Cemetery located to the rear of Mount Hope Cemetery 169 Charing Cross St, Brantford. The family will be receiving guests at Natalie’s home following the internment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brant Community Healthcare System or a charity of your choice. A tree will be planted in memory of Natalie in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
