Obituary of Linda Henwood

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Linda Henwood (nee Smyth) with her family by her side on Sunday Oct 9, 2022 at the age of 74.She was the beloved mother of Nancy (Paul) and Sandi (Steve), proud grandmother of Brooklynne, Kaisen, Logan and Amanda, and great grandmother to Caelab, Alex, Sophia and Lauren. Loving and devoted partner for many years to James Tree. Linda will be greatly missed also by many more family members and friends. Predeceased by parents Robert and Dorothy Smyth, sister Beverly, and son Gordon Scott Henwood. Linda was gentle and shy, she lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker and worker in the retail sector. She courageously battled many ailments, with grace, a true warrior with a sweet smile and incredible sense of humor. She loved to bake, and was highly skilled with crochet hooks, she enjoyed hobbies including dancing, music, antiques, painting her nails, sewing, spending time with loved ones and attending to her many plants and flowers. Linda also loved animals, especially dogs. She valued home time, quiet moments, watching movies, and spending time with loved ones. Most of all she loved her family. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue on Sunday from 1-2 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Sunday at 2 p.m. with cremation to follow. Interment of ashes will take place at Burford Pioneer Cemetery on Thursday, October 20 at 11:30 am.
