Thompson, Ilene Jane - Passed away peacefully at the Brierwood Gardens on Friday, July 22, 2022 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Charles Ward. Loving mother of Darren Thompson and Ward "Flip" Thompson (Lianne Parker). Caring sister of Marilyn Heppner (Ken) of Maywood, Illinois. Ilene was born in Brantford on May 27, 1933, third of four children to Mabel (nee: Campbell) and Orval Edward Cosby. Predeceased by her parents and her brothers Donald Cosby (Connie) and Orval Cosby (who is survived by Sandy (nee: Boynton) of Port Coquitlam, B.C.). Among her many attributes, Ilene will be especially remembered for her love of figure skating with her parents and siblings and never missing a game with her beloved Toronto Blue Jays. A Celebration of Ilene's life will take place at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue on Saturday, August 20th. Visitation is from 10 to 11:00 am with a Celebration of her life to follow at 11 am. Donations to the Lung Association would be appreciated.
