Condolences
Cathy, Ruth, Will, David Laura and Matt
We were very saddened to hear about the passing of you Mom and wish to send you all our condolences .
Your cottage was like a second home in the summers and there are too many memories to choose... from chainsaws to sunday morning dish duty. But the one consistent memory I have of your parents is their evening canoe rides I always loved watching them paddle out of the bay, it was just peaceful to watch ( I now realize it was probably their way of getting a break from all of you :)
So Happy Paddling Dr & Mrs P
Hugs from here to there.
Tammy, Tom, Samantha and Matthew Smedley.
Dear Cathy, Ruth, David, Will, Laura and Matt,
I and my family were so sad to hear that your dear mother Dorothy had passed away. I always admired and remembered her true devotion as your mother, her intelligence and her loving relationship with your Dad. His passing must have been difficult for her and that was a very sad day for me too. I always looked forward to his humour, sharing of his knowledge and his thoughtfulness towards me.
I have many fond memories of your parents as Craig's godparents, of "cleaning days" at the St. George farm and of the wonderful and fun times at the Koshlong Lake cottage. I will always think of Dorothy and Charlie as loving and caring friends who were solid in their faith and in their devotion to you.
Unfortunately, I am not able to attend the celebration of life service today and I would have really liked to have seen you, your children and grandchildren! But I will be thinking of you.
The events of the past two years prevented me from visiting your parents but I am hoping that there is a tea time out there sometime when we can share memories and catchup.
Take Care and Love,
Jane DeVito
Will be hoisting a drink to them both for lives well lived celebrating many fond memories any time spent together. The world is a better place having had them, and we all are better people lucky enough to have share time.
Don’t miss one day!
It is with many fond memories and golden recollections that I send all the family prayers for peace and love and strength that personified Dr. and Mrs. Pickett. Their door was always open to those who would drop by or just pop in to say hello, especially whilst they were in residence at the cottage on Koshlong Lake. So too, was the generous invitation freely given, to come for supper after Wednesday afternoon hikes at Camp Wanakita, just down the road. The Picketts often brought their cottage guests to these outings and included their neighbours the Carruthers and Huttons in their company of the interested. Little did they know that their influence, on many of the staff at camp, would still be working for the good and benefit of all to this day. Seldom do we find two individuals who are so endowed with a joie de vivre that it reaches into the hearts of all with whom they have come in contact. It is through Dr. and Mrs. Pickett that we have seen the hand of God at work in this world and we have been so blessed for the knowing of them.
Peace and love
Rev. Charlie Hogg

I am so sorry to hear the news of Aunt Dorothy's passing. We were so lucky to have grown up with such strong, loving role models, we will miss them both! Our deepest sympathies!
Love to you all
