Obituary of Barry Rowat

Rowat, Barry Andrew - Passed away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on Saturday, January 15, 2022 in his 80th year. Devoted partner of Joan Barton, beloved husband of the late Audrey Byllaa​rdt, and the late Sharon Rowat. Loving father of Ian Rowat (Ann), step-father of Vicki Hunter (Bob), and Wendy Lyle (Brian). Caring brother of Lealand Rowat (Barb). Predeceased by his parents Melvin and Eunice. Barry was a long-time member of the Masonic Alma Lodge #72, Past Master of Masonic Alma Lodge #72, Past Master of Galt Masonic Lodge, past member of the Shriners, a Member of the Brantford Flying Club, a Member and Sponsor for Alcoholics Anonymous, and was on the Brant County Snooker League and the Brant CPA Pool League. Barry's zest for life included obtaining his Private Pilot's License, working his way to receiving a Black Belt in Judo, along with a strong passion for Square and Round Dancing. At the family's request cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted to the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, (519) 752-4331. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alcoholics Anonymous. A tree will be planted in memory of Barry in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
