Obituary of Domenico Quatrini
Please share a memory of Domenico to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Domenico Quatrini in his 96th year, on Monday October 4th, 2021, at the Stedman Community Hospice. Dearly beloved husband of the late Maria (nee: Giorgi) (2002) for fifty-one years. He cherished and respected Maria with all his heart. A vibrant, loving, and caring father of Pina, Rossana (Paul), and Mauro (Rose), compassionate, warm-hearted, and devoted Nonno of Sandra (Mark), Marco Testani (Jessica), Claudia (Ryan), Luca, Matteo, and Molly and a kind, patient and thoughtful bisnonno of Joshua, Zachary, Sarah, and Mason. Domenico was born in Pofi, Frosinone on November 19th, 1925, to parents Nicolina (nee: Cecconi) and Antonio. He was a dear brother to Bettina (Giovani), Giuseppina (Nicola), Francesco (Savina), Rita (Pietro), Anna (Ernesto) and to all his brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces and nephews in Leamington and Italy.
At an early age, Domenico learned the resilience of what it meant to be a father, the strength of what it meant to be a grandfather, and the passion it took to love his family and friends. As a young adult, he spent his time serving Italy as a Bersaglieri, which he held proudly and honourably. He devoted his life to keeping people safe. He was the heart and soul of what it means to be a hard working, dedicated, loyal, man. Moving from Italy to Canada in 1967 with his wife and three children, he courageously left his old life behind, to start over and ensure his family was given a better life. He spent the rest of his years loving, laughing, and making memories with his family. Those memories will never be forgotten and could never be replaced. He was a dedicated life time Roma Club member. He had a special place in his heart for all the friends that he was able to make while doing some of the things he loved, which was playing cards, and Bocce. The family would like to extend a heart-warming thank you to Penny, Andrew, Dina and Rosa, the VON of Brantford, the PSW workers at Bayshore, Dr. McNeil and nurses at Stedman Community Hospice for all their help and support during this troubling time. In lieu of flowers we request that you donate to the VON of Brantford or Stedman Community Hospice.
