Remembering Karen Bailey Moir
My recollections of Karen are mostly of the early years and always fond. I remember our grandfather Bailey calling my mom (Aunt Marg) with the news of Karen’s birth. In the early days, we would gather as an extended Bailey family perhaps three or four times a year. Karen possessed her own distinct personality. Thankfully, she inherited Aunt Virginia’s beautiful, infectious, ear-to-ear smile, as well as a voice, and perhaps a laugh, that was made for broadcasting. It was a pleasure to watch Karen grow into the beautiful, caring, and confident woman that see became. It was evident that Karen’s strong character and principles were molded in large measure by the unconditional love and support of Uncle Jack, Aunt Virginia, and her brothers Daniel & Gregory. It was obvious that they shared a special bond. It is also abundantly clear that Karen was a mother and partner like no other. As with everything that she accomplished in her relationships and a life that was long in quality and way too short in quantify, Karen did it her way and with distinction. The Bailey – Sanderson family send our love to Karen’s family and all who love and miss her. May her memory be a blessing. With sincere sympathy and all good thoughts,
Donald Bailey Sanderson, Parry Sound, Ontario.
Dear Laura Josh and Jacob, i am so very sorry for the loss of your mom. I worked with Karen for 16 years at Appleby Place. She was such a happy and positive person with the biggest smile ever. She was such a proud mom and spoke of you all very often as well as the rest of her family. I still can't beliveve she is gone. Karen will live in our hearts forever. I will never forget her. Sending love to you all.
Karen is going to be missed by all, especially her family. She has made such an impression on anyone she ever met, it goes without saying, we will all miss her dearly. I had the pleasure of working with Karen, but only for just over 3.5 years. And not in a bad way, it felt like forever to me. Once you have met Karen you knew immediately you have a friend. Not only was her smile always there, her positive attitude on life was as well. She cherished everyone in her life, but none of them more than her children.
Laura, you may not be able to see this right now, but you have your mom's inner beauty as well as her beauty on the outside. You will wear it well in life.
Joshua, you have her inner strength, always there maybe not always needed but it will help carry on in life.
Jacob, you have her courage, and soon when the loss of her becomes more understandable, you will know how to move forward with all her courage.
Dave, I am so thankful she found you. I am only sorry that it was for such a short time.
To her family, Mom & Dad, Brother's, thank you for sharing her with all of us.
She may not be here but she will live on forever in her memories. God rest her Soul
Sincere sympathy to Karen's family. Karen was my husband (Archie) and my nurse when we lived at Appleby Place for 10 years.
Karen was a wonderful nurse who we trusted and highly respected. Her lovely smile was the best medicine for all of us at Appleby Place. My grandchildren remember her most for her smile! Karen would come into our suite and say "Well Archie, how about those Leafs", as she knew Archie and her had true faith that one day they would win that Stanley Cup again! I am now 93 years of age and for the past 11 years I have been living with family and Karen is a special nurse who always will hold a special place in my heart. I am sure her and Archie will be talking about those Leafs and cheering them from the heavens. God bless her children, I am sure her wonderful spirit and legacy will live on in each of them. May your beautiful memories and reflections bring each of you peace in the days ahead. Thank you for sharing the lovely memorial video. Sincere Sympathy to all Karen's family and may God Bless each of you.Ruth McKinnon
Sending our deepest sympathy to the family during this very difficult heartbreaking time. Memories are forever, keep those times close to your heart ❤️
Karen will be missed by all her Mohawk College Nursing classmates. We shared a lot in those 3 intense years of training and remained friends ever since. Her smile and laugh were contagious. She always remained positive through thick and thin. She was a mentor to many but the most to her children. She was a dedicated mom and nurse. Rest easy now my friend. You will be missed by so many. My condolences to Laura, Josh, and Jacob. She loved you with all she had and then some. To Dave...I am so glad you found one another and Karen was able to have your companionship and love in her final years. My condolences also go out to Greg and Dan and their families, Karen's parents and her extended family. I hope that the memory of her smile, laughter and love help you all heal in the days, weeks and years ahead. Love to all, Andrea Charters.
