Condolences
Harold was chief pilot and one of my instructors at Niagara Helicopters in 1977 and he helped make me comfortable at the controls.
I will always remember him telling me with a grin "You fly no hydraulics really well, but then you always fly like you have no hydraulics!"
Since I was a bit ham handed to start it was nice to have a laugh about it and loosen up. Regards to Doug, Greg and others who were there.
Harold came to mind this morning for reasons unknown and I found him here.
Best wishes and condolences to his family.
Very sorry to hear about the loss of Harold. My sincere condolences go to the family.
I worked as an Engineer for Harold in 1980 at Niagara Helicopters. We went on a 3-4 month helicopter contract all the way to Frobisher Bay (now Iqualit). Harold picked me up at a small airport in Oakville (3rd line and N Service Rd?). He flew over my house nearby and my Dad dropped me over at the airstrip. We flew all the way to Igloolik over 3-4 days stopping along Hudson Bay looking for promised fuel caches. Another Pilot (Doug Lowe) spelled off Harold for half of the trip (if anyone knows where he is, I wanted to get some photos from him!).
Harold was a very knowledgeable and dedicated man and will be missed.

Hi sorry to learn of Harold's passing belatedly. First met him in 1975 as a student at Niagara Helicopters where he was one of my instructors and then there was the time at Standard Ag Helicopter. Great honest guy. Condolences to the family.

Very sorry to hear about the passing of Harold. My memories of him and the entire family extend back many years ago to my younger years in Troy. We shared an interest in aviation and he was always willing to share his expertise. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family and we know that in time your sadness will be replaced with loving memories or a great person.
Please stay well, sending our love
