Kelly, my deepest condolences and thinking of you and your whole family during this difficult time as you process the loss of your Dad.
I just heard that Frank had passed away and wanted to send you this note and offer my sincere condolences. It makes me very said to know he is gone.
I have met and worked with many people over the years since Datasym and I can honestly say that I never met anyone quite like Frank. And I mean that in a good way! Frank was a one in a million type of guy, the type of guy that is funny, hard working, well intentioned, honest and and an overall good person! I can’t tell you how much I learned about life and business from Frank during my 5 years at Datasym. I think of him often.
To this day I tell Frank stories to people I work with. Like the time we went to Mexico. We drove a rental car from San Diego to Tijuana, which was strictly not allowed by the rental contract, however Frank just grinned and said it was ok! We arrived and parked the car and then went to find the best dirt floor bar we could. We sat at a table and Frank when up to the bar and got me a coke and himself two beers. I think the bill came to about $3. Frank gave the bar tender a $20 and came back to the table. I asked Frank why he gave the guy such a big tip. He said, Always pay the the bartender extra and then no one will screw with you in the bar. That was a life lesson that I still apply today. Go out of your way to take care of people and they will take care of you.
When we left the bar and headed back to the car we discovered that the car had been in an “accident” and a bunch of guys were standing around it. Frank evaluated the situation quickly and decided that we it was an accident scam and worried the Mexican police would get involved and that it was going to cost us a lot of money and create a bunch of problems. We abandoned the car and took the bus back to San Diego. We reported the car as stolen. Frank told the rental agency we left it in a mall parking lot and when we came out of the mall it was gone! Another life lesson, evaluate the circumstance quickly, make a decision and then roll with it! :)
I travelled all over the USA with Frank and saw and experienced many new things. The dealers that we would go and see would look forward to his visits and were all jazzed about the new technology that Frank was promoting. They all bought from us because of Frank. Some of the dealers were dirtbags and some of them were great. Frank had a different relationship with all of them. Life lesson, sum up people quickly to determine what they are all about then build your relationship with them based on that. Frank was a master of doing this. All of the dealers loved Frank!
Although Frank probably did not know it, he had a very big influence on my life. I could go on and on and tell stories about things I learned from Frank. I was a young kid back then and Frank took me under his wing to teach me the ropes. He taught me a lot! Lessons I still reference to this day!
He will be missed!
Please send my condolences to the rest of your family.
Sincerely
Marc Caminetsky.
My heart is broken! Frank taught me more than any other person on this earth...and he made me laugh while doing it.
