I was extremely sorry to hear about Vern's passing. Back in the late 70s and early 80s, I was employed as a news announcer at CKPC Radio in Brantford where I first met Vern. He was a true gentleman and possessed a great deal of knowledge. This man was a real professional and I learned a great deal from him with respect to the radio profession. I regret not having stayed in touch with Vern after I left the station to work in Ottawa and then Toronto. Also, Vern's partner, Kit, was at the Brantford station during my time spent there. She too was an amazing person. It was my honor to have known and worked with both Vern and Kit. May they rest in peace!
