Smith (Dickson), Vera Ella

(nee Ayers)

Passed away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital, after a courageous battle, with her loving family by her side, on Wednesday, March 14th, 2018 in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of Wayne for over 52 joyous years. Loving mother the late Brenda Uhryn (1991), Bryan (April), Janie, Jim (Lori), Sandra (John), the late Scott (Deanna), and Robert (Kelly). Devoted "Nana" to 12 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her sisters Ria, Meta, Sadie, and Ethel, and her brothers Jim, Gerald and Sam. Vera will also be fondly remembered by Delores (Mike) Deboneville, Barb and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Her family would like to express a special thank you to Cathy (her PSW), and to the Palliative Care Unit at the Brantford General Hospital for their care and compassion. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave on Monday from 6 - 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 - 11 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment Farringdon Burial Ground. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Brantford S.P.C.A would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of Vera in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
