Condolences
Yesterday was a deeply emotional and sad day as I learned of Deb's passing. Deb and I go way back to our early teenage years and I have nothing but cherished memories of our fun and mischievous times. I remember walking down the street to Deb's Mom and Dad's house; we would sit in the kitchen having a cup of tea and laugh, and laugh and laugh. Deb's smile was infectious and no matter what your mood, she would always perk you up. Deb was such an elegant, classy lady and always lit up the room whenever she walked in.
Unfortunately I am currently out of the country and I am crushed that I cannot be in attendance for the memorial.
My deepest heartfelt condolences to the family.
With a heavy heart,
Susan Foster (nee Soroka)

I am so very sorry to hear about Deb's passing. I had the pleasure of working with her at Elgin Lodge. I miss our chats we had and her encouraging words she had. She was a loving and caring person and always asked how my family was. May you rest in peace Deb, thinking of you always!
Dear Kassia, Wally, Heather and family,
I am forever grateful for the opportunity to know your Mom and my dear friend Deb and for the impact she had on my life. Her vision of life was remarkable and she was an inspiration to everyone. She courageously pursued a University degree later in life and took on a prestigious managerial position at a Senior's Residence in Port Elgin, helping people, because that's what she did. Always putting everyone else's needs before her own. Deb was a kind, beautiful soul and I will surely miss her warm smile and will forever cherish her words of wisdom and her wonderful sense of humour. As I am writing this, I'm fighting back tears in disbelief that she was taken from us far too soon. Please accept my deepest sympathy and know that your Mom's life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. May you rest in peace my friend!
I worked with Deb at Kingsway Arms @Elgin Lodge. I enjoyed working with & for her, we had lots of laughs & fond memories. Thanks for sharing her with us.
So sad to hear of Deb's passing. We went to high school together and even Peppi Program with our kids. Rest in peace Deb.
So so hear about your loss. She will and has been missed by a lot of staff

Sorry for your loss6
Dear Wally jr, and Kassia and family.. I am so very sad to read about Debbie's death, I have many great memories of her during our Peppi days together. That was the foundation of a great friendship for many years. She was so full of life, fun to be around and so proud of her children and grandchildren. I remember her helping organize a surprise 30th birthday for me! Along with several other girls!!! What a party that was!. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. As you wrote the tribute to your mom, yes you captured the essence of a special woman. Take care of each other as I know you will. She will be remembered! XXXXXXXXX
To the Lucent and Wallace families:
It is of great sadness to read in the paper that a truly remarkable lady has passed away.
Debbie and I met while roller skating at the Civic Centre way back when. We parted ways but I will always remember her as the girl that made an impact on my life.
For Ever In My Heart.

My personal condolances to the family. Deb was a great friend to our family, we had many visits together at the cottage in Southampton, and enjoyed her stories and laughter. She was a very special lady, and her memory will live in our hearts, as I am sure she will in yours. God bless. Roger Bayley
We were so deeply saddened to learn of the passing of dearest Deb. Our condolences to all her family and loved ones. Deb was a very special friend who we will miss so very much. We will miss her warmth, wonderful sense of humour, kindness and love. We will always remember her visits to our family on holiday in Southampton. Deb always brought love, laughter, lots of fun and great tales for us all to enjoy. She was one of a kind and we were greatly blessed by her friendship which we will forever cherish. God bless you Deb and may He continue to make you a blessing in your heavenly home.
It's difficult to express in words how deeply grieved we are knowing that our dear Deb is gone from this earth. She was truly an extraordinary woman of strength, courage, joie de vivre, authenticity, humour, and love. She touched all who were blessed to know her. And she could tell a hilarious yarn unlike no other!
I got to know Deb back in the days of working at the BCHU, and after she moved to Southampton, we were delighted that her condo was only a block away from the cottage where we stay every September. We shared many happy meals and reminiscing there on the cottage deck. She spoke most often of her family, whom she loved fiercely with every fiber of her being.
Our prayers are with the family, and the friends that Deb made feel like family. We are so very grateful to have had a friend as fine as this.
With love,
Pamela & "The A.B." ...Deb will know what that means :-)
Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs to Kassia, Wally, and family.
Deb was the most amazing, caring, and authentic person we have ever known.
We feel so blessed to have spent so much quality time with her during this difficult journey.
So many special memories, with the most memorable including Deb RV camping with us at MacGregor Point Provincial Park, and spending her last New Year's Eve at the Bannister family home.
We will miss our good friend dearly.
