Obituary of Rebecca McKenzie

In the loving arms of her children, surrounded by their voices singing her favorite Beatles songs, Rebecca June McKenzie (Jamieson) passed away peacefully on the morning of January 17th, 2018 in her 60th year of life. She lived a large, fierce, unapologetic, vibrant, love-filled and compassionate life. She was known to many as Big Bec because of her enormous heart and undying servitude to anyone in need. She fought a long battle with Breast Cancer with the utmost bravery, unwavering faith and loving support of family and friends who knew she would not have wanted it any other way. She was an amazing mother to 4 wonderful children: Lyndsay Reader, Amy (Ted) Kelaidis, Whitney Lovatt and Jesse Money (Dale Galway). Loving Quita to Ethan, Clare, Lios, Ricca, Ellie, Emerson and baby Jamieson on the way as well as Great-Quita to Logan. Survived by her caring mother Joan Jamieson, devoted siblings Chris (Maggi), Lynn (Bern), Jamie (Claire) and Dianne (Jim) and husband Dan Mckenzie. She was also an inspirational aunt and great-aunt to 5 nieces, 1 nephew, 4 great-nieces and 4 great-nephews.

 

The family will be hosting a celebration of life for Bec on February 3rd, 2018 at the Dundas Valley School of Art.
