Condolences
On behalf of my mom, Marianne Koza, and myself we wish to offer our deepest condolences to the Powell family. Fred and Dorothy were the best possible friends to my mom and dad for so many years.
I just found out about Fred's passing today.
If its possible please contact me via email as I would like to find out if its possible to speak to Dorothy.
My dad Harold and I are both very sorry to hear of Fred's passing.
My first memory of Fred was when I delivered his newspaper to his home on Dundas Street. He always made me feel welcome when I went to collect and over time I got to know the rest of the Powell family. Every time I saw him there was a friendly chat, a wave, a smile or some other greeting and you just knew this was a good man !
Over the intervening years I would see him once in awhile and it was always the same. Always friendly, interesting and interested. Always that great smile !
Fred is one of those people you run across in life who you are happy that you knew and who you remember fondly.
Our condolences to the family.
I'm so saddened at Fred Powell's' passing, especially since I just got to meet my Great Uncle Fred at our first family reunion recently. He was full of life and energy telling some of his life stories. It was very special to get to "peek into his window" of this life. Have fun on the other side Uncle Fred.
Christi Powell
Thank you dad for your amazing love.
We had great times at the cottage, eating tomatoe and ham sandwiches and sand.
I loved playing cards with you and mom and laugh when I would stop your hand.
You were an amazing dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
I will miss your big hugs and kisses goodbye.
I love you dad. You are now at peace.
You were an amazing Grandad!!! You will be missed deeply.
Will always love you.
So I'll sing Hallelujah
You were an Angel in the shape of my Dad,
When I fell down you'd be there holding me up
Spread your wings as you go,
And When God takes you back we'll say Hallelujah
You're Home.
What a wonderful gift Uncle Fred was to your family and to all of us. He was so steady and certain. I'm very grateful to God that you had such a loving father to count on. And Aunt Dorothy, what a beautiful example your marriage has been. I wish I could be there with you now, in your time of sorrow, and to remember all your good times. Please know I am with you in my heart ...
James1:17 'Every good and perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights with whom there is no change nor a shadow of variation.'
Friends of Donna and Bob, Our Condolences to you both and your family. Another Angel is now among us. Thinking of you at this sad time.
What felt like a life time was only a couple years ago I met Freddy and his other half Dorothy after they moved to Riverview terrace. It started with some simple things like remembering the way he liked his Cheerios and the glass he drank his tomato juice from. Not long after, our simple daily bonding turned into hearing "THERES MY GIRL " hollered across the dining room at 6am, telling everyone I was going to kick all the boys butts at welding, long hugs and even earning the status of "basically our granddaughter". After I left Riverview terrace we continued on with our special relationship with many visits full of cotton candy, bakery treats, creamed corn and tons of stories and laughs. I was even lucky enough to celebrate Fred's big 90th birthday with him.
My heart is heavy that it is time to say goodbye to someone who held such a special place in my heart.
Thank you for all the unconditional love and support you have given me and making me feel like part of your family.
like we always said "i love ya lots and lots and don't forget it"
My heart and thoughts are with the Powell family during this difficult time.
Rest in Peace Fred
