Condolences
Uncle Chet;
Thank-you for your service to Canada during WW2 and for truly being a Great Uncle! Until we meet again!
Love Brian, Elizabeth, James, Bruce and Anna-Marie – Ottawa, Ont.
We were sorry to here of Chet's sudden passing. I met Chet when I was working downtown in the 1960's. I was at Ludlow's Mens Wear and Chet was at Graftons. We had many good stories and laughs to share about the men's wear business. We did meet for breakfast occasionally with some of the old gang that worked with Chet over the years.
A true gentleman who will be missed.
Chet was one of a kind. They broke the mould when he was made. He always had a kind word and complimented you on any achievement you had. I miss him so much. He was a fixture at the info desk at the hospital - I won't be able to replace him. I'm working the desk today and so many visitors and employees are saying how much he meant to them. I'm going to miss his smiling face, his soup and jam, but most of all - I'm going to miss him.
My condolences to his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

A few months ago, I received a call that went something like this:
Chet: Tracey is that you? Its Chet.
Me: Hi Chet! Its so good to hear your voice. I miss you guys!
Chet: Well that's why I'm calling. I just heard you were sick.
Me: Yeah...I am, but I'll be okay.
Chet: That's right, you will. And I'd like to keep calling to check on you if that would be okay with you....
I spoke again with Chet just two weeks ago. I always felt so touched that he would call me. I volunteered with him at Brantford General Hospital. He would eat at Wimpy's Diner every Monday with a group of his friends and would always say, I saw your mom, or I called your mom, or how is your mom to my daughter Courtney each time he was in. He could tell you to the day how long its been since his wife of 64 years has passed. He will get to be with her again and that makes me happy on an incredibly sad day.
So long Chet, I'll miss you.. <3
Sorry to hear about the passing of Chet. We met him at Queensway Church and his conversations about the bible were always informative and lively.
He was a wonderful man who kept so in touch with the world through his volunteer work. He always had a friendly smile and a kind word for all. I know he will be missed by many.
His example of kindness and good deeds to others is one we all should try to follow. May God bless you always.
We will miss Chet attending Shenstone Baptist Church each Sunday. He was a gracious Christian gentleman who loved helping others (the jam he made was delicious) and set the bar high in thinking of others.
Prov. 3:5,6
Chet was a man of great faith with abounding love for his family and friends. He was my grandfathers best friend (Wally Forsythe). He became my "adoptive grandfather" when my grandpa passed and always made sure that I was doing well and keeping a close eye on my family. He loved playing bridge, golfing and traveling with my grandparents. He will be truly missed by everyone he touched. Such a special man. Never to be forgotten.
My sincerest condolences to the family. Chet will certainly be missed.
