Obituary of Richard "Rick" Thursfield

Thursfield, Richard "Rick" Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, Nov. 23rd, 2016 in his 63rd year. Beloved husband of Jody (nee Smith) for over 32 years. Loving father of Jessica (Chris) Koepke, Ryan (Natasha), Ashley (Justin), Mark, and Kayla (Anson). Devoted grandfather of 8 grandchildren Joshua, Aiden, Tyler, Lucas, Mason, Ava, Eric, and Ryleigh. He is survived by his brother and sisters Fred Thursfield, Maria, June, and Darrell Dermann, and Anita Clayton. He will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Rick "Willow" was a retired member of Scouts Canada, and he was a Beaver Leader and Service Team Rep. He was an avid lover of all things trucks and trucking. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave. on Sunday from 1 - 2 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel on Sunday at 2 p.m. Cremation. Donations to Scouts Canada or the Juravinski Cancer Center in Hamilton would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Rick in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
