Obituary of Harold Rutherford

Rutherford, Harold Arthur Dearly beloved husband of Dorothy (Harris) for 63 years passed away peacefully on October 24, 2016, at the Brantford General Hospital, in his 82nd year after a brief battle with cancer. Loving father of Darrell (JoAnne), the late David (Gwen), Debbie Dover (David), Jeff, Sandra Squeo, and Ian. Adored grandfather of Kevin, Jamie and Adam; Ashley, Amanda and Angela; Matthew and Heather Dover; the late Amber and Jason; Melissa McNeish and Josh Squeo; and a special great grandfather of 8. Predeceased by parents Cliff and Mabel, and siblings Cliff, Violet Patterson, Evelyn Deagle, and Larry. Left to mourn are sister Bea Belair, brothers Harry (Joey), Bob (Vicky), Ted, and sisters-in-law Audrey (Bob Rooney), Delores, Bev; and brothers-in-law Vern Deagle and Don Harris (Sharon). Harold was an avid volunteer firefighter for over 40 years with the Cainsville Fire Department and will be sadly missed by members of the Langford Community Church. Friends will be received at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment Oakhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Langford Community Church or the Palliative Care Unit, Brantford General Hospital would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Harold in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
