Obituary of Jack Byers

Byers, Jack It is with sad hearts, the family announces the passing, after a long life, of Jack Byers, on Thursday, Oct. 20th, 2016, in his 87th year. Husband of the late Myrtle (2009), and dear father of Susan (Rick) Allison, and Robin (the late Darrell) Brennan. Loved "Papa" to Tyler and Sydney. Jack had a great sense of humour and enjoyed NASCAR, trips to Northern Ontario, boating, fishing, being outdoors and all the family dogs. Long Point had a special place in his heart. Jack will be terribly missed by family, friends, and neighbours, and was a special friend to Clayton. The family would like to thank Dr. Vincent and his team and nurses on the cardiac wing at the Brantford General Hospital for their compassionate care. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave. on Monday from 12:30 - 2 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel on Monday at 2 p.m. Interment Greenwood Cemetery in Waterford. Donations to Woodview Autism Services, or the Stedman Community Hospice - Hankinson House would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Jack in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
