Obituary of David Hanans

HANANS, David “Poker Dave” James - We are heartbroken to announce that Dave, of Brantford, has earned his angel wings even though our hearts weren’t ready. Peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday August 26th 2016 at the Brantford General Hospital in his 52nd year. Predeceased by his grandparents George Hanans and Effie Langille. Predeceased by his father, Robert “Ace” Hanans (2013) and his sister, Linda Clark (2006). Beloved son “Babe” of Patricia Hanans. Dear brother of Ron and Mike (Teri) Hanans. Loving father of Christopher (Terri), Tabitha and Samantha Hanans and loving step-father to Tyler (Joann) Sangster. Devoted Papa of Hayden, Kai and Savannah. Lovingly remembered by best friends Bill and Lisa Davies. Much loved by Elizabeth McIntire. Cherished and remembered by Joan and his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will also be sadly missed by his Ketchabuz family and the many acquaintances who had the pleasure to play pool, poker, baseball and darts with him. Dave’s favourite moments were with family and friends and time he spent coaching hockey. He has left behind fond memories of love and laughter with the many stories shared by loved ones. Thank you to Dr. Rosenberg and staff in the Critical Care department for their tremendous support and effort. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received Wednesday, August 31st at 10:00am at the BECKET-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue, Brantford with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00am in the Chapel. A Celebration of Life is planned for 1:00-4:00pm at Knights of Columbus, 12 Catherine Avenue, Brantford. Dave would want NO MONKEY SUITS!
