Condolences
I was so saddened and surprised to hear of the passing of Shona. Living in Australia for the last 18 years, I haven't seen her since leaving Canada. I went to WLU with Shona and have so many fond memories of her. Shona actually introduced me to my husband and so she has a very special place in our hearts.
My deepest condolences to friends and family - she was such a funny, loving and crazy girl; the world has lost a vibrant spark. xo
Dearest friends and family of Shona.
It was with a heavy heart I heard the news of Shona passing.
I lived with Shona in university. Along with 4 other amazing women, Shona let me into their house as a stray. They let me in, and welcomed me and surely made fun of me as the only dude. But I got them back too. There were moments I actually won the debate. But not often.
For me, Shona was a big part of my best years in university. She lit up the room with her sarcasm, and had such a warm heart for me and everyone around her.
Shona made me laugh. A lot.
And she always had humility and charisma.
I feel very sad she's gone. But I also feel sad we lost touch over the years.
We shouldn't have.
Love Tim
Dear Comisky Family
Our thoughts are with all of you. We just heard the sad news today.
We are friends of Jan and Herbie.
Dear Mrs. Comisky:
Finding the announcement of your daughter's death was accidental, as I don't usually look at the Brantford Expositor on-line. You were one of my favourite teachers at Burford High School, circa 1968-70. You were still "Miss Kenny" when you arrived to teach us Latin and History!
I was saddened to learn of the loss of your beautiful daughter. I hope one day we will understand why such tragic things happen. In our hearts, faith tells us that the ones we love are just "somewhere else" for now, still loving us as we love them, and that we'll see them again some day.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family today and in the days ahead.
With kindest regards,
Liz (Robertson) Brown

I have never met anyone who was a funny as Shona. Her quick wit, her sarcastic one-liners and her hilarious instant comebacks gave me so much joy and laughter. GI have beautiful memories or her. She was a beautiful person. Sincere, heartfelt condolences to her family.
Words escape me. I am so sad and so sorry for the loss. I love you, dear Shona, and you will always be in my heart.
I was shocked and saddened to hear about Shona's passing. Although Shona and I lost touch over the years I thought about her often and the fun times we had together. I will always remember Shona for her great sense of humour and the smile on her face. She was always the life of the party and could make anyone laugh.
I know how close she was with her family and how special you all were to her. My thoughts are with all of you right now during this difficult time.

Shona was so special to me. The connection we developed has never and will never leave me. I have the crystal tree she brought back for me from John of God/Brazil is on my mantle. I see it daily and think of her daily. She fought for what she knew she needed and I'm so grateful to have been able to support her. I told her all the time that she would forever represent in my mind the strength that I wish we could all be so courageous to act on. I would tell her that her determination, her fight and spirit was her most admirable qualities - it's how I will always remember her. We shared many laughs, tears and deep conversations. The last time I saw her she was driving on Bathurst at Queen St. I waved her down and peeked into the car and she gave me the biggest air kiss and smile and hand sign that she'd call me. She prayed for me many times and I have been praying for her.
Please accept my sincere condolences to the entire family. Your loss is felt so deeply in my heart and know that Shona meant so much to me. Steve, Judy and James - I know we have never met before but I feel like I know you all a bit through her and our friendship. Shona loved you all so very much. It was always part of our conversations - catching up on our lives and the people in it. Until our last emails in January she was so thankful and grateful for being surrounded by such love. I am thinking of you all now and in the days to come.
She was a force and she will never be forgotten.
With love and hugs
Melissa Chan
I first met Shona at the Liberty Village Running Room and we developed a quick friendship. She would often come visit me and have coffee with me at the store. I had the joy of running with her in a race and seeing the passion she brought to the sport.
My condolences to her family and her husband. She was an amazing woman and I am grateful to have met her in my life.

Shona and I met while running together at the Liberty Village Running Room. We became fast friends and shared many laughs, stories, adventures and tears... I feel very lucky to have had Shona in my life. For the past five years, Shona was my closest friend, and my heart breaks that she is gone.
One of my fondest memories was cheering Shona on during her first half marathon in Burlington, every time she ran past she had the most amazingly huge smile on her face - Shona was so strong and never missed an opportunity to make you laugh.
Shortly after that Shona met James and her life was forever changed. It was clear right from the start that James would become the love her life...
James, both Rodney and I send you our love, and we are so sorry for your loss. We wish we could be there in person, please know our thoughts and our prayers are with you.
We would also like to send our most sincere condolences to Shona's entire family.
I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss. My condolences to family and friends. My memories of Shona were of a quick-witted, funny, high energy, no nonsense kind of woman. She was courageous and brave. May memories of her kind spirit bring you comfort during this difficult time.
I am very saddened to learn of Shona’s passing and am so sorry for the inconceivable loss to James and to Shona’s family. Shona was a bright light with an easy laugh and such incredible determination.
One of my favorite memories is a day we spent biking around wine country and then to see Chantal Kreviazuk record the live album “In This Life” with the Niagara Symphony at Jackson Triggs’ amphitheatre. It is a beautiful recording and Shona’s clapping and hollering is on that album! Shona was such a fun and vivacious person.
My deepest sympathy to James, Shona’s family, and all who knew her.
I am not sure if you will recognize me by my name. I lived next to Mrs. Kenny in Mt. Vernon for many years and know Steve, Judy, & Mrs. Kenny.
My most sincere condolences to you all at this difficult time. I have fond memories of the children coming to Mt. Vernon to visit Mrs. Kenny. Such a shock for me to learn of Shona's passing. God bless you as you grieve.

I had the pleasure of meeting Shona, playing softball together on The Allsorts.

I am so shocked and saddened to hear this devastating news. I know how much Shona loved her family and how close you all were... We fell out of touch a few years back, but I still thought of her often and how much fun we had together... No one could ever match her quick wit and zest for life... I am so happy to hear that she found love with James and that she was surrounded by people that loved and adored her... She definitely deserved that... I am so sorry for your loss and can't even imagine how difficult it must be for everyone. Knowing Shona, I am sure she put up one hell of a fight and kept everyone laughing right until the end... Life will not be the same without her...
Big hugs,
Christy McMullen

My deepest sympathies go out to Shona's family. Shona and I started our HP career journey when were hired full time on the same day with HP from being on a contract together. We worked together and socialized together on several occasions. I am very sorry that her young life was cut short and my thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends as you try to go on in life without her :(
Along with many people at HP, I am deeply saddened to hear about Shona's death. Not only was I honored to work closely with her on several occasions during my career but I also considered her a friend. Her larger than life personality and her razor sharp sense of humor helped me through a tough period in my life. Although we haven't been in touch through her illness, I can still hear her voice and I'm sure will never forget that one of a kind Shona Comisky laugh. Thank you Shona for making my world a better place.

I am so sorry to hear of Shona's passing. I wanted to share 2 things that show the kind of person she was to me and many others.
Firstly she has left a wonderful program for HP Canada - our adopted High School.- Shona carefully selected the school for us to work with & forged a lasting relationship with them. Many students have benefited from the work she established & this continues today. HP employees also have an opportunity to give back to the youth at the school, bringing purpose & meaning to their work too.
Secondly I spend a chilly 4 hours fundraising for Youth Without Shelter at Dundas subway station- as always her fun & spirit made her a very successful fundraiser even during a blizzard with very grumpy commuters.
She will always be in my heart.
Frances
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time. We never had the opportunity to meet Shona but heard wonderful things about her from Janet and Herb. We are so sorry for your loss. Joan and Bob McDougall

Always there with a smile and helpful, or to go out and spend time after work with our group she was always there for us and we had many good times.

To James and Shona's family,
A conveyance of our sorrow at your great loss.
Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith … it is the price of love.

We are absolutely heartbroken to hear of Shona's passing. A work colleague, quickly turned to friend.... Almost 19 years of working together at HP. There are so many fond memories of playing baseball, beach volleyball, and of course, many work functions. Her laugh lit up a room and made everyone smile. She had a presence that will be dearly missed. Our deepest condolences to Shona's fiancé, parents, siblings and friends. Sending prayers and strength to all of you.
Kellie & Juan Garcia (longtime HP friends)
SHONA
You came into our life, brighter than the sun’s rays
With a warm smile, eyes glittering and a gift set of balsamic vinegars.
We welcomed you with our arms wide open
And a hearty dinner which we all enjoyed.
We laughed our way through a fun-filled Christmas morning,
Eating yogurt parfaits, drinking Champagne mimosas
and answering silly trivia questions.
Over time, there were raspberry jams, coffees drunk while
Snacking on apples and nuts, James patiently waiting
While we talked, ate and generally enjoyed ourselves
We ate kilos of goat cheese, hundreds of dates and drank
Many pots full of coffee – and herbal teas!
We will miss your laughter, your enjoyment of life
And, most especially you.
With our love to eternity, Barbara and Tom Cowan
We are so sorry to know that Shona is no longer here to laugh with us and keep us all on our toes. The world is a better place for her having been in it. I have so many fond memories of Shona but one that comes to mind first is her being in Sarah's wedding party with me and the 2 of us planning and helping in that great event. The good-cop/bad-cop team we were when the wedding dress wasn't ready on time and how her sense of humor and straightforward manner were a joy to be around. My daughters loved being able to see her when she visited Brockville and we will all miss her. She was a very strong person and personality and will be remembered that way.
We're so sorry for your loss, we will keep her memory in our hearts.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Shona's passing. After all these years, her name came up in my conversation just last week - God works in mysterious ways.
I have many fond memories of sleep-overs, car washes, magic shows in the backyard, goat's milk ice cream at Grandma's store and carpooling to skating and intramurals for school. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time of loss.
I am absolutely devastated to hear of Shona's passing, we'd been friends for years at hp, but more recently as neighbours in Liberty Village, she was such a joker, you were never not laughing when you were with Shona, the world is a much duller & sadder place now without her. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten, my deepest condolences to James & the whole Comisky family, she loved you all very much.
I was profoundly upset to hear this news. The memories I have of Shona make me smile. We had so many wonderful times together. I will always remember her laughing. My deepest sympathies to all of you. Mr and Mrs Comisky, you always welcomed all of us into your home. Thank you for allowing us to make wonderful memories with your daughter. I pray that you find peace in the memories you have made.
Much love,
Steph

Stephen, Judy, James, Corin, Krista & Dan, Stevie & Janice. Uncle Herbie and I are heart broken in losing Shona. She was a great part of our lives and we loved her with all our hearts.
We are going to miss our visits with her and the phone calls she would make while having her treatments or caught in traffic.
We love all of you so very much and we are there for you.
Uncle Herbie and Aunt Jan
My heart is broken at the news that my dear friend of 18 years is gone. I will miss her fun loving, outgoing, full of life personality. She always lit up a room wherever she went, she was a co-worker at first but quickly grew into a life long friend that I cherished deeply. We had been there for each other through lives ups and downs and I was so glad that she met the love of her life, James, a true angel on earth. His love and support of Shona was truly amazing.
My deepest condolences to James, Shona's family and friends during this very difficult time that is very hard to comprehend.
Our love, thoughts and prayers,
