Rae, Irene Lillian The family announces with sorrow, the death of Irene Lillian (nee Fisher) Rae, at the St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre, on Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late James F Rae (1986). Dearly loved mother of Suzanne Duncan (Lonny). Cherished grandmother of Katy Raebecca (Chris) Tesone (nee Duncan), and great-grandmother of Alexis Duncan. Predeceased by her parents George and Mary Ann Fisher, her sister Jean, and brothers George, William, and Gordon. Irene's teaching career began at a one room school and concluded in the library at Brantford Collegiate Institute with many adventures in between. She was a long time volunteer at the Brant County Museum and on the Children's Ward at the Brantford General Hospital. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave on Friday from 2 - 4 and on Saturday from 12 - 1 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel on Saturday at 1 p.m. Cremation. Interment of Ashes at Farringdon Burial Ground. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Irene in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
