Obituary of George Smith

SMITH, George Sylvester Cotter - Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre, on Monday, May 2nd, 2016, in his 95th year. Beloved husband of Rena Smith (nee LeGassick) for over 65 years. Much loved father of Ted (Rosemary) Smith and Nancy (the late Cliff) Seeley. Loving grandfather of Candace and Vanessa. Dear brother of Jean Carson. He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends. George worked for the federal government for over 30 years and a veteran of WWII. He was an avid church goer and a long time member of Grace Anglican Church. Special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph's Lifecare on Lilac Lane. Friends will be received at the BECKETT - GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue on Sunday, May 8th from 12-2 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Donations to the Grace Anglican Church would be greatly appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of George in the Beckett - Glaves Memorial Forest.
