Obituary of Peter Almond

Almond, Peter Denis Passed away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on Thursday, January 7th, 2016 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Jean (Whiting), and the late Lois (nee Myerscough) (1997). Loving father of the late Brian (Lynn) and his step-daughter Catherine (Aubrey) Tozer. Grandfather of 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Noel (the late Jane Clark), and predeceased by 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Peter will also be fondly remembered by Lois Johnson, Jane Ross, Jon Whitehead and his many other family members and friends. He was retired employee of Haggerty Brothers Constuction, a long time active member of the Oakland Seniors Club and the A.R.T.C. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave on Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m. and on Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Oakland Cemetery. Donations to the Oakland United Church, or the St. Joseph's Lifecare Foundation (Stedman Community Hospice) would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Peter in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
