Obituary of Phyllis Raby

Raby, Phyllis Irene (Nee Fleming) It is with profound sadness that the family of Phyllis Irene Raby, announce her passing on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Brantford General Hospital, after a short and brave battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late Thomas King Raby. Loving mother of Thomas and his wife Sharon of Brantford and Jayne and her husband Peter Wagner of Toronto. Cherished grandmother of Erika, Laura, Erin, Jessica, Thomas and Michael. Dear sister of Margaret and sister-in-law Irene Fleming both of Port Colborne. Predeceased by her brothers Jack and his wife Julia, Robert and Gerald and his wife Jean. Phyllis will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, dear friends and colleagues. Phyllis was proud of her over 20 years dedicated service to the legal firm of Waterous Holden Amey Hitchon LLP. She enjoyed her retirement spent travelling, curling, as an avid bridge-player and volunteer. Her passion was her family, especially her grandchildren. At Phyllis’s request there will be no visitation, the family will receive friends prior to the service at Faith Lutheran Church at 57 Brant Avenue on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.. Phyllis’s family wish to invite her friends to join them for a luncheon to honor Phyllis’s life, held at the Brantford Golf and Country Club, 60 Ava Road, following the church service. A private family internment will be arranged at a later date. The family wish to offer their grateful thanks to the nursing and medical staff of the Brantford General Hospital for their compassion and professionalism. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, SPCA, or the Faith Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
