Obituary of Ora MacArthur

MacARTHUR, Ora Doreen (nee: Leard) - Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 7th, 2011 at the Norfolk General Hospital in her 81st year. Beloved wife of Archie for 59 years. Loving mother of Barry MacArthur and Colleen Coons (Douglas). Grandmother of Laird and Averial MacArthur and Keegan and Callum Coons. Predeceased by four sisters and one brother. Ora was born and raised in Mount Stewart, P.E.I. She met and married her sweetheart in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Ora enjoyed curling, golfing and swimming. She always had a kind word to say and saw the positive side of life. Ora is at rest after a dignified battle with dementia. Special recognition to Archie who cared for her so diligently during her 10-year illness. Special thanks to homecare workers, Mary, Barb and Nurse Linda. In keeping with Ora's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family committal of ashes will be held at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Haldimand-Norfolk Alzheimers Society. Arrangements were entrusted to the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, Brantford. A tree will be planted in memory of Ora in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
