Obituary of Cyril Hoadley

HOADLEY, Cyril Sydney - Peacefully, in his 81st year, at Leisure World, Brantford, on Tuesday, May 24th, 2011, after a lengthy illness. Beloved husband of Audrey Ruth (nee Peters) for 57 years. Father of Stephen and his wife Monique and Dianne and her husband Peter. Grandfather of Jennifer and Christine and her husband Christopher. Great Grandfather of Matthew, Nicholas and Liam. Survived by his Sister Patricia Peters. Predeceased by his brother Charles. Cy battled Parkinson's disease for many years after beating Prostrate Cancer and Heart disease. Cy was highly regarded and very well liked by all in his second home at Leisure world. Cy worked for the National Council of Canadian Labor for many years when he retired in 1993. After his retirement Cy became involved in the Drama club at the Beckett Centre and with Audrey put on many acting and singing shows. St Paul's Anglican Church in Holmedale was grateful to have Cy as their Warden and member of their congregation. The Family would like to send extra special thanks for all of the compassion and care he received in Leisure world, specifically the Forest View "G" wing staff. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, Brantford (519) 752-4331. Cremation has taken place. The Family will receive friends at White Chapel Memorial Gardens and Crematorium, 1895 Main St W. Hamilton on Monday May 30 at 2:30 p.m. for a graveside service. In lieu of flowers donations to the Parkinson's Society would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Cyril in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
