PALING, William (Bill) - Passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife at home after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, April 17th, 2011 in his 52nd year. Beloved husband and best friend of Diane for 32 years. Devoted and much loved Dad of Cassie (John), Holly (Kevin), and Michael (Shelbi). Proud first time grandpa of Leah. Loving son of Johnny Pickard (Lynda) and the late Lucy Pickard. Brother of Sandra (Andy) Buchan, and Cheryl (Phil) White. Favorite son-in-law of Alma Marcotte. Bill will also be missed by his many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and very dear friends. He was a long time employee and retiree of Arcelor Mittal Dofasco, primary services. A special "Thank You" to the family, friends and neighbours for all of their love. A very sincere "Thank You" to Barb, Jenette, Nevada, Val and the rest of the home care and Juravinski nurses and doctors for the compassion, care and support they showed. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, Brantford on Saturday from 12-2 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the chapel on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Randall Mackenzie officiating. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Bill in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
