God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered, " come with me". With tearful eyes I watched and saw you pass away. Although I loved you dearly, I could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke my heart to prove to me, he only takes the BEST.--unknown
I was shared this poem and I thought it was perfect. It relates to the feeling of both sorrow and comfort, sorrow that dad is missed and comfort that he is finally pain free. It amazed me how much courage dad had, he never complained.
I've learned to live life with the same courage and strength faced with such adversity.
Our family has stayed closed throughout dad's journey and I am very happy to have spent that special time with him.
You were a great father and I will smile everytime i think of you.
