Obituary of Nellie Mucy

MUCY, Nellie Irene - Passed away peacefully in her 90th year on Saturday, July 31st, 2010. Nellie lived a full life , touching many and will be lovingly remembered. Predeceased by her husband, Michael (1976), her parents, Peter and Mary Olenuk, and her siblings Anne, Adolph, John, Mary, Michael, Nick and Helen. Loving mother of Ronald (Lesia), Janice (Leo), Carol (Barry) and Mark (Patricia). Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Summer Lee, Jason (Kari), Allison, Derek (Lauri-Anne), and her great-grandchildren Jordan, Brookelyn, Savanna, Carter, Colton, Ethan, Reese, Nathan and Kaitlyn. Companion of Joseph Simich with whom she spent many happy times during the past 15 years. Nellie was blessed by the unfailing, devoted and loving care provided by her son Mark and his wife Patricia, especially in recent years as her health declined. We are grateful to our Garbedian extended family for their devotion to mom throughout her life, with special thanks to cousin Darla Guest, for all her visits and support. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. D. Lowcock, the staff at Amber Lea Place, the PSW and home care teams from CCAC and Comcare for all their care, compassion and support of mom. Many thanks to Dr. J. Legere and the fifth floor B Wing nursing staff who cared for mom in her final days with great sensitivity. They made her as comfortable and peaceful as possible. Family and friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, on Wednesday, August 4th, from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Brant or the Heart & Stoke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. A Tree will be planted in memory of Nellie in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
