Obituary of Joseph Farrugia

FARRUGIA, Joe - Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Joe passed away at the Brantford General Hospital on Thursday, May 20th, 2010 in his 73rd year. He was the beloved husband of Ann for 49 years, loving father of Peter and his wife Liisa, and dear Poppa of Michael. He will be fondly remembered by his sister Josephine Mulhern and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. With his winning smile, his big personality and his infectious laugh, Joe brought a room to life. He loved being around his family and friends, and they responded to him in kind. He was definitely no ordinary Joe and, while we will miss him terribly, we will cherish the many memories of good times with which he left us. A Memorial Service will be held at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, Brantford on Wednesday, June 9th at 11:00 a.m. Interment of Joe's ashes will take place privately at Farringdon Burial Ground. Donations to the Kidney Foundation, Diabetes Association or the Brantford General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Joe in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
