MORKEBERG, Irene Grace (nee: Rawlins) - Passed away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital, Brantford, Ontario on Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Eric (1989). Loving mother of Dan and his wife Tena. Caring grandmother of Bryan (Chrysta), Eric, Chris (Jen), Craig (Angie) and 8 great-grandchildren. Caring companion and best friend of Dave Mannen. Also survived by her sister-in-law Joan Rawlins, of Edmonton; and several nieces and nephews. Irene was a championship swimmer and won the Wrigley Mile in 1938 and 1939. She was a longtime employee of The Bay in Saskatoon. A Memorial Reception will be held at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, Brantford on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Irene in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
