ELLIOTT, Dean Edward, JULY 9,1946 - FEBRUARY 23rd, 2010
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Dean Edward Elliott, at the Brantford General Hospital on February 23rd, 2010, age 63. Dean leaves behind his wife and best friend Cheryl Lynne Elliott, daughter Cherie Elliott, son-in-law John Hager and four beautiful grandchildren whom Dean cherished, Cierra, Ethan, Abbey and Kyan. He will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Audrey and nieces Cindy, Connie and their families. He also leaves behind his father Russell D. Elliott, sister Joyce and cousin Philip Girard, all of Victoria, B.C. Dean will be remembered for his fun loving and teasing ways, his generosity and his quick laughter. He was loyal and always willing to lend a helping hand. Dean spent his early years in Streetsville, Ontario before entering the Royal Bank of Canada working as branch manager and later loans officer with the Agricultural Division. His career took him and his family to Toronto, St. Marys, Hepworth, Scotland (Ont.), and Brantford before retiring in 2000. Dean became involved in community activities wherever he worked participating in the Chamber of Commerce and developing ski trails in Sauble Beach during the early 80's. He was also a Lion's Club member and enjoyed camping with his family, stamp collecting, and family genealogy. His love of travel took he and Cheryl abroad in his retirement years. Dean left us all too early. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. "the family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Brantford ICU for their care and compassion at this difficult time." Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave. on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., and on Friday from 12-1 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel on Friday at 1 p.m. Interment Farringdon Burial Ground.
