Obituary of Kathleen Thompson

Thompson, Kathleen Mary (Pascoe, aka Kay Jackson) - Passed away at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre, Brantford, on Thursday, February 4th, 2010 in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her loving husband Sydney "Pat" Thompson (1952) and cherished daughter Patricia Ruth in 1970 at the age of 17. Daughter of Mae (1971) and Roy (1971) Pascoe. Survived by her brother Maurice Pascoe (Patricia) of Burlington, and sister Marian McLean (Al), of Sarnia. Predeceased by her sister Viola Bell (Hugh), of Sarnia and her sister Pearl Churcher (Ed), of Hamilton. Much loved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Kathleen was in the W.R.C.N.S. (Wrens) in World War II, and later was employed at Canada Customs, in Sarnia. She also worked at the Brant Court House, where she was appointed the first female Sheriff's Deputy in Ontario. Kathleen was an active member of Echo Place United Church until it closed. at which time she became a member of Fairview United Church. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre on Sunday, February 7th, 2010 from 1 - 2 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the chapel on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Interment of Ashes Blackwell Cemetery, Sarnia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre, or Fairview United Church would be appreciated. Special thanks to the caring staff of Pine Trail - St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre and to Dr. J. Hsaio who was always there for Kathleen. A tree will be planted in memory of Kathleen in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
