Obituary of Esdale Smith

Smith, Esdale Alvin (Smitty) - January 8th, 1917 to August 7th, 2009 - Smitty was the loving and cherished husband of Bernice for over 67 years. Best Dad ever of Dale (Patty) and Ken (Cathie). Very funny Grandpa of John (Rosanne), Ian (Kerry), Carly, Will and Gabe and great-grandpa of Ashley and Thomas. He loved Bernice, he loved his sons and he loved his trombone. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave. on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and Monday from 10-11 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family would like to thank Versa Care Lodge and Long Term Care for the great care given to our dad. He "loved us madly". Donations to a charity of you choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Smitty in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
