Obituary of Donald Sturgeon

STURGEON, Donald Arthur - At the Brantford General Hospital on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009, Don passed away peacefully in his 65th year. Beloved brother of Gord (Janice) and Oliver (Donna) Sturgeon. Much loved uncle of Craig (Kim), Scott, Grant and Sharon. Predeceased by his parents Lorne and Marjorie Sturgeon. He will also be dearly missed by many other family and friends. Don was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hockey, bowling and fishing. He played 18 years for the Seals Hockey League. He served on the executive and volunteered as a minor hockey coach. Don was also a member of the Branch 461 Royal Canadian Legion. Don worked for 45 years as an appliance repairman; 26 years with C.A. Mannen and 19 years with Don Heys Appliances. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, on Thursday, July 23rd, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Dunsdon Legion would be greatly appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Don in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
