Obituary of Estelle Opychany

OPYCHANY, Stella "Estelle Helen" (nee Janiec) - Peacefully with her family by her side, in her 91st year. Cherished mother of Pat and Klaus Schmidstrauter, Cathy and Larry Cleaves, Liz and Joe Springall, Marg and Murray Davidson, Marian and Barry Hesson, and Alisa and Rick Vanthournout. Beloved grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 7. Loving sister of Len (Ingrid) Janiec, Kay Litchfield, Sondra (Jim) Gilbert and Val Brooks. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Stella is predeceased by her parents Leon and Ada Janiec, brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Helen Janiec, and her sister Francis Stewart. Stella was a long term employee of Parsons Radio and Electric and volunteered her time to many causes; her favorite and most cherished was the work she did volunteering in the school helping children learn to read. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, on Tuesday, April 14th, 2009 from 12-1 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Ontario S.P.C.A. Wildlife or Nova Vita Women's Shelter would be greatly appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Stella in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
