Obituary of Thomas Burtch

BURTCH, Thomas Wilbur - Passed away at the John Noble Home on February 18th 2009 after a valiant fight in his 87th year with his family at his side. Beloved husband for 64 years of Margaret (nee Gibson). Loving father of Rob and his wife Lynn, and Brian. Dearest grandfather to six grandsons and their spouses and to seven beautiful great-grandchildren. Tom is also survived by three sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Tom is predeceased by his parents Orry and Pearl (nee Woodley), his siblings, Don and Hazel, one grandson, Robbie Pray, and his brother-in-law Joe Gibson. At Tom's request, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service has been held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, (519) 752-4331. A Memorial Service to celebrate Tom's life will take place at St. Jude's Anglican Church on Sunday, March 1st 2009 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Thomas in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
