THOMPSON, Gertrude Agnes (nee Wing) - Peacefully at Shalom Village, Hamilton on Wednesday, February 11th, 2009 in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Harold (1993). Loving mother of Charles Robert "Bob' and his wife Dianna, of Dundas, Barbara and her husband David Millington, of Minden, and Louise Ward, of Virginia. Caring grandmother of five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Muriel and her husband Pete Peterson. Gertrude was a lifetime member of the Women's Institute and very active in the United Church Women and the Crusaders. She was also involved with the Horticultural Society. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Wayne Myhre officiating. Cremation. Interment of Gertrude's ashes will take place privately. Donations to Gertrude's favorite charity, the Alzheimer Society or to the food bank of Lynden or Dundas would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Gertrude in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
