Obituary of Roy Cantlon

Cantlon, "Skip" Roy - Peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, August 22nd, 2008 in his 65th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Sharon for over 42 years. Loving and beloved father of Jamie (Tamara), Mark (Tammy) and Derek (Martine). Devoted "Papa" to Brook, Jamie Leigh, Samantha, Brady, Sebastien, Jace, Cole, Noah, Kayla and Kamran. He is survived by his sister Heather. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Doris Cantlon, and his brothers Brian and Terry. He will also be sadly missed by many other family members and friends. Skip was heavily involved with his kids sports throughout their youth, was a convenor for the Brantford Church Hockey League, Cub Leader at First Baptist Church, and , reluctantly, a baseball umpire whenever the need arose. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, (519) 752-4331. Friends will be received at the New Covenant Congregational Christian Fellowship, 22 Holiday Drive on Tuesday from 6 - 7 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow at the church at 7:00 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or New Covenant Church would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Skip in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
